IMETC International Solutions was incorporated in Lagos, Nigeria in 2006 by a group of seasoned maritime professionals with a singular vision: to bring world-class port management and maritime consultancy services to the African continent. Over the past 18 years, we have grown into a full-spectrum maritime solutions provider with a team exceeding 80 professionals.

Our work spans the entire maritime value chain — from operational services like stevedoring and STS cargo transfers, to policy-level advisory on trade facilitation and blue economy strategy. We have delivered projects in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, and Senegal, partnering with national port authorities, ministries of transport, international development agencies, and private sector shipping companies.

Key Milestones

2006

Company Founded

IMETC International Solutions incorporated in Lagos, Nigeria. Initial focus on port consultancy and stevedoring advisory.

2009

First STS Contract

Secured first Ship-to-Ship operations contract in the Niger Delta, managing crude oil transfers for a major international energy company.

2012

NPA Partnership & Terminal Consulting

Formalised partnership with the Nigerian Ports Authority to provide technical advisory on terminal operations optimisation at Apapa and Tin Can Island ports.

2015

Port Statistics Division Launch

Launched dedicated Port Statistics & Data Analytics division, becoming the first private firm to provide comprehensive West African port performance benchmarking.

2018

Blue Economy Expertise Established

Established Blue Economy advisory practice in response to Nigeria's Integrated National Ocean Policy. Became key consultants to the Presidential Council on Blue Economy.

2022

Pan-African Expansion

Expanded operations to Ghana, Cameroon, and Côte d'Ivoire. Awarded UNCTAD Maritime Development contract to support trade facilitation reforms across 4 West African nations.

2026 & Beyond

Digital Maritime Transformation

Launching IMETC's maritime digital transformation practice — bringing AI-powered port management, blockchain trade documentation, and smart terminal systems to African ports.

Two Decades Shaping African Maritime
